. . . has stolen my heart.
It’s quite silly, I know. We’ve only been here since late Saturday. Then we spent Monday visiting my cousins in Temple and Kileen. And now I’m feeling sad to be leaving for Houston tomorrow. We have driven and explored as much as we could during the time we had, and I’ve loved every bit of it. We’ve even looked at some houses.
We had an enjoyable dinner with one cousin who lives here. And tonight we caught up with very dear friends we hadn’t seen in ages. After dinner we took B to the Trail of Lights at Zilker Park and had one of those special times you know you’ll always remember. Lot’s of Ooooh’s and Aaaah’s and “Look at that!” We forgot the camera – the following picture is form the Parks & Recreation website.
Now, I’m hoping and praying we get to move here sooner rather than later. Of course we could wind up somewhere else, but Austin now has my heart and this is where I want to be. Is it really possible to fall in love with a city?
[…] We are traveling for the holidays and having a great time. We’ve been exploring Austin and visiting some friends and family, and tomorrow we’ll head to my inlaws’ in Houston. So far I haven’t experienced anything very spectacular in the food department. But we did eat “brunch” at a little dive – hole in the wall – on Sunday. […]
I love Christmas lights! One of my friends grew up in Austin Texas, she lives in Berlin now I must send her a card, thanks for reminding me.
I checked out the website…
The lights are spectacular!
I would say yes, you can fall in love with a city, and I hope you can make that plan and dream a reality. 🙂
Hey Junior! It’s good to see you back in the land of the living.
